I have often wondered about another class reunion. I made the first one but missed the second back in the 80s. So, in June, when quite by accident I saw this web site I was slightly more than ecstatic.  I figured that if George and Jan could take the time and effort to organize this I would certainly drag my butt 3000 miles to celebrate with the rest of The Class of 68!  See you soon.

The Class before yours (1967)  just had a very quiet 41st Reunion. We have begun to work on our 45th. I appreciate George and Jan extending an invitation to the Class of '67 to join in some of your events. Besides checking in on your Class Reunion site please send your personal emails and websites to the webmaster at westex.org  It is the official West Essex Web Site and is becoming a place to search other WE classes.  Good luck in October!

My WEHS experience greaty helped me shape my life choices and professional path. Living in a foreign culture, discovering that we are all the same, regardless of national origin, strengthened my passion to work in an international setting, helping others who are less fortunate. My work in Africa, Asia and Latin America has been so interesting, challenging and exciting. My AFS year was " the" highlight of my teen years, it helped me mature, develop a great sensitivity to diversity and opened my mind to  change, growth and empathy to those who are different from us. At the same time, I always felt accepted, included and, truly loved by a wonderful family who opened their hearts to me : the Bartholomews! they will always be my " American family" and my first exposure to the US reality and culture. I am so thrilled to be part of this reunion!

For those of you that I haven't had the pleasure of talking with yet, I'm George Lincoln's wife; and for those of you I have spoken to; our conversations have been for me much like the greatest gift on a beautiful Christmas morning.  I wasn't in your class, I wasn't even in New Jersey but I feel as though I know each and every one of you.  I believe this phenomenon is because we were all born during a very unique era and there was a stirring deep from within our hearts, souls, and consciousness & we were so connected, this connection knows no bounds.  Many of you have heard me say, "when this reunion idea was born in George's heart" in our correspondence early on when plans were first being made, before Nadine had your website up and running but the truth is (and George and I have known this from the beginning): this idea was born in the hearts of many of you, a coming together was born in Lee Farmer's heart, Pete Gennaro's heart, Sue Honour's heart and on and on and on, actually all 160 of you have expressed the same in various ways.  When the website was first up and running it was almost embarrassing because it looked, to us, like a "George Lincoln MySpace" site.  It was like an empty room before the party and preparations were being made but the guests had not yet arrived.  And then you started to arriving, one beautiful heart after another.  Then this idea in so many of your hearts starting evolving and taking a life of its own, growing into such a beautiful thing.

This is your website, this is your time to come together again with old friends, new friends, kindred spirits, to see so many you haven't seen for years gone by, to dance, to eat, to play in the park, to see your high school girl friends, high school boyfriends, your best friends you made so many memories with, your joys and deepest sorrows.

Isn't it interesting that your event is happening in the fall during the time when the trees are displaying the full spectrum of their magnificent colors?

Wow! I can't believe all the RSVP's we've gotten in the last few days. This is wonderful, and heartwarming that George's dream is actually coming true. You can also tell people are getting psyched by the number of hits this website is getting. Looking forward to getting on the dance floor. Nadine

I was among the missing and now I'm not!  My daughter's 10th and my 40th are on the same night, so she may have to find another sitter  - LOL.  I can see this is a labor of love for the organizers.  Great job.  Regards to all.

Well I knew Karen Strandskov, Judy Faggiani and I think Kevin Finnerty from working at the West Caldwell A & P in 1968! I seem to remember a Bonnie too who also worked there..but I know only Karen recalls me. I met and worked with Bob O'Brien from working with him in radio in the early and mid 70's. Y'all have fun at the reunion..GO CALDWELL CHIEFS!..hehehe

40 years?  I do not believe I have been alive that long.  Is this a math trick you are pulling on me?  I could not believe when I saw the 1960's on the HISTORY CHANNEL!  I am in touch with Lynda (Burghardt) Violino and unfortunetly Bob O'Brien.  As per our last conversation George was buying Bob A WHOLE LOT OF DRINKS! Not a pretty picture.  I will be there in spirit.  Thank you to Jan, George, Nadine, Linda, Janet, and Judy and to all that I have missed for all your work for our class.  I hope to make it to our 50th.  As per MY CALCULATIONS I'll be 49.  Now do not get me confused. Do not give the facts as my mind is made up.  Yes, I am still having fun.
Love to all,
Karen Strandskov

Bob Obrien called me about our little get- together. Forty years, seems like yesterday we had the whole world in our hands. Wish I could press replay and do it again. Thanks to the organizers for putting this reunion together, especially Big George the one classmate who could make this a cool event and bring everyone together. See you in October.
